MSc Energy Geoscience Bursaries

The Energy Transition Centre for Masters’ Training (CMT), in partnership with the Geoscience Energy Society of Great Britain (GESGB), is offering 12 bursaries for students enrolling on the Petroleum Geoscience and Geoscience for Sustainable Energy MSc courses for September 2026 entry.

Each bursary is valued at £6,000 per annum.

Funding is provided jointly by GESGB and CMT sponsors: bp, CNOOC, and ExxonMobil.

Eligibility

These bursaries are open to UK and International students who by 8 April 2026 hold an offer for either:

  • MSc Petroleum Geoscience
  • MSc Geoscience for Sustainable Energy.

 

Applying

Eligible students will be automatically considered for the bursary. No separate application is required and there is no need to contact the department.

The University of Manchester may nominate up to two students for the award.
