Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences

Close-ups of the hands of school children, holding science equipment

Schools and colleges

We run a range of activities to inspire future scientists and share our science with the wider community.

From volcanoes and meteorites to dinosaurs and rhinos, we have enthusiastic experts ready to engage with interested members of the community - from pre-school children through to life-long learners.

We provide hands-on activities for primary and secondary schools, right through to A-level students considering whether to take their science learning a step further. We take part in a wide range of public activities such as ScienceX at the Trafford Centre or the University Community Festival on our own campus, and members of the Department regularly speak at events such as Cafe Scientifique and Pint of Science.

Explore how your school or college can connect with the Department below, and please get in touch if you're interested in having a speaker come to your school or community group.
